Google has announced an extended repair program for Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL experiencing display defects. The company says a limited number of units may experience issues affecting functionality, such as vertical lines across the screen or display flicker on the Pixel 9 Pro.
The program gives owners up to three years of free display replacement coverage from the original retail purchase date. If a service center confirms the defect and the device has no disqualifying damage, Google replaces the display at no cost. This repair option becomes available after Dec. 8, 2025, and users can access it through Google walk-in service centers, authorized service partners, or online or mail-in repair options, depending on their country.
Not all devices automatically qualify. Cracked screens, broken cover glass, liquid damage, or other significant physical damage can exclude a phone from the extended program. Phones that don’t meet eligibility requirements—Google requires any vertical lines to run all the way from the top of the screen to the bottom, for instance—may still get repairs through Google’s standard limited warranty or as paid repairs outside the warranty period.
Any repair performed under this program includes a 90-day repair warranty.
