Google has upgraded its AI-powered travel tools ahead of the holiday season, making new trip planning and booking experiences available to users worldwide.
Among the new features are Google’s Canvas in AI Mode, which lets travelers organize upcoming trips with a customizable, interactive itinerary. Users can tell AI Mode what kind of trip they want to plan and what help they need, and Canvas quickly generates an itinerary. The process incorporates real-time flight and hotel data, along with maps, photos, and reviews. Travelers can refine details, such as hotel distances from specific attractions, and add or remove options as their needs change.
AI Mode‘s new, agentic booking tools are purportedly designed to support those itineraries, letting users search for and reserve tables, tickets, and appointments via integrations with OpenTable and Ticketmaster.
Finally, Google Flights introduced an AI-powered Flight Deals tool in more than 200 countries and 60 languages after first launching it in the US, Canada, and India. Travelers indicate when and where they want to fly, and the tool provides the most affordable tickets fitting those preferences.
Canvas in AI Mode is currently available through Labs to US-based desktop users. Google says it plans to add direct flight and hotel booking capabilities via partnerships with Booking.com, Expedia, and Marriott International.
