Following several solo giveaways, the Epic Games Store’s weekly freebie offer has been bumped up to offer a double freebie. Replacing last week’s Universe for Sale are the games The Darkside Detective and Jackbox Party Pack 4. As always, you have seven days to add the games permanently to your Epic Games Store library.
From the duo, The Darkside Detective is a point-and-click adventure developed by Spooky Doorway. The title revolves around the Darkside Division, a force that investigates bizarre and dangerous cases happening around Twin Lakes City. Detective McQueen and his sidekick, Officer Patrick Dooley, investigate nine cases that involve “flesh-hungry tentacles, mafian zombies, and the occasional missing sock.”
“Where cultists crawl, where demons dwell, where the occult… occults? *ahem* That’s where you’ll find Detective Francis McQueen, the lead investigator of the criminally underfunded Darkside Division,” describes the developer. “When evil darkens the doorsteps of Twin Lakes City – hell, even when it just loiters around shop fronts or hangs out in shady alleyways – he’s there, ready to investigate the cases that nobody else will.”

Next, party game fans have plenty of options with Jackbox Party Pack 4. Here’s what the pack contains:
- The blanking fun sequel Fibbage 3 (2-8 players). Play all-new question types and the game mode Fibbage: Enough About You (3-8 players). Guess the weird facts about your friends.
- The web-based frame game Survive the Internet (3-8 players). Twist your friends’ “online” comments in hilarious ways.
- The spooky date-a-thon Monster Seeking Monster (3-7 players). Message and date fellow monsters with special powers.
- The deranged debate match Bracketeering (3-16 players). Place smart bets on stupid arguments.
- The one-up art game Civic Doodle (3-8 players). Compete to improve the town murals.
The Jackbox Party Pack 4 and The Darkside Detective giveaways are now live on the Epic Games Store. The promotion is slated to remain active until December 11. On the same day, the store will begin offering yet another free game for the platform, which is being kept a mystery.
