After finally being cleared by the Federal Communications Commission, OnePlus has kicked off online preorders for the OnePlus 15 in the United States. The base model, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, starts at $900 in Infinite Black, while the 16GB RAM and 512GB variant costs $1,000 and comes in Sandstorm and Ultraviolet finishes.
The US launch was delayed due to the federal government’s record-breaking shutdown, which suspended FCC operations. The FCC is responsible for certifying new wireless products, and without its approval, OnePlus could not begin selling the OnePlus 15 in America. The company received FCC clearance in early December, Ars Technica reports.
The OnePlus 15 comes with a 7,300mAh battery offering 50W wireless charging and 80W wired charging. Due to the lower voltage standard of the US power grid (110-120V) compared to other regions (220-240V), the included 120W charger is capped at 80W when plugged into standard US outlets. This is still a speedy charge, but it’s not quite what users in other countries might receive.
The phone features the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with a 165Hz LTPO 1.5K display, compared to the OnePlus 13’s 120Hz LTPO 2K display. The camera system is said to be a step down from the OnePlus 13, as OnePlus ditched its partnership with Hasselblad. Nevertheless, hardware tester Jon Fingas was impressed enough with the OnePlus 15’s camera in his ExtremeTech review, noting that it was “still a good choice for portraits and tourist shots.”
OnePlus is currently taking preorders exclusively on its website, with availability at Amazon and Best Buy to come later. Customers who preorder now get to choose one free accessory while supplies last: OnePlus Buds Pro 3, an AIRVOOC 50W wireless charger, select phone cases, or, in some cases, the OnePlus Watch 3. The earbuds have an MSRP of $180, making them the highest-value option.
The first units are expected to arrive just before the end of 2025.
