The maker of the once-popular Pebble smartwatch has returned with Index 01, a minimalist smart ring that captures voice notes and turns them into reminders, notes, or other actions on your phone. The ring is designed for anyone who experiences sudden brain blasts during the day, offering a quick way to capture thoughts before they are forgotten.
Index 01 fits on the index finger. When you press a button with your thumb, you can speak your thoughts into the ring’s built-in microphone. The ring stores audio locally and syncs to the Pebble app when your phone is in range.
Pebble says the ring only records when you press the button, and all audio is encrypted between the ring and your Android or iPhone. Your data is processed locally, so the app works offline without requiring internet or a paid subscription, though you can sign up for an optional cloud backup service.
Pebble Index 01 runs on a non-rechargeable battery that lasts for years under typical use. (Pebble puts this at roughly two years, if you capture 10 to 20 short snippets daily.) Made of stainless steel and water-resistant to one meter, the ring comes in three colors—silver, gold, and matte black—and eight sizes. Pre-orders start at $75, with pricing jumping to $99 after launch.
Worldwide shipping begins in March 2026.
