Samsung has launched the One UI 8.5 beta program, rolling out early access to Galaxy S25 series users in the US, Germany, India, Korea, Poland, and the UK.
The update purportedly improves photo editing by allowing users to continuously generate and edit new images without saving each version, which previously cluttered the Gallery. When finished, users can review all their edits in edit history and pick their favorites to keep. Quick Share also recognizes people in photos and can send those images directly to the contacts pictured.
On the connectivity side, Audio Broadcast lets users send voice from their Galaxy phone’s microphone to nearby LE Audio and Auracast devices. Storage Share brings all Galaxy devices together by displaying files from tablets and PCs directly in My Files. It also lets other Samsung devices, such as TVs, access the phone’s storage remotely.
Theft Protection secures phones and data if a device gets lost or stolen. If a thief enters the wrong fingerprint, PIN, or password too many times, the screen will automatically lock.
Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra owners in the six available markets can apply for the beta through the Samsung Members app. Once accepted, they can download it via the Software Update section in settings.
